Received the B.Sc. Degree (Electronics & Telecommunications) from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka in 1990 and joined Sri Lanka’s first private TV channel; MTV Channel (Pvt) Ltd as the Project Engineer and subsequently became the Engineer-Transmission to be in-charge of the Studio Microwave Links and the TV transmitters.
In 1994, Joined MTT Network as the Senior Engineer to lead the engineering team to build Sri Lanka’s first communications infrastructure and microwave backbone network. Was responsible for the network design, implementation and operation of the island wide PDH and SDH microwave backbone. Subsequently held the positions of General Manager – Technical and the Chief Technical Officer of the company.
In 2006, joined Dialog Telekom as the General Manager – Operations and in 2007, was posted as the Senior General Manager – Engineering to head the engineering division of Dialog Tele-Infrastructures; the SBU which was responsible for designing & building the group’s tower infrastructure, power systems, microwave and optical transmission networks.
Dialog Tele-Infrastructures provides its infrastructure and transmission (microwave and optical) services for other telecoms operators also.
