Steven Alleston joined Ericsson with the acquisition of Marconi in 2006. He joined Marconi in 2000 from Aston University where he was a Research Fellow investigating high speed soliton transmission. Steven was responsible for development of photonic technologies for ultra long haul DWDM transmission, and then took responsibility for System Design for the MHL3000 multireach DWDM system. More recently Steven has taken a Product Management role for DWDM within Ericsson. Throughout this he has published over 20 papers and generated a number of patents in the field of optical communications. Steven holds a degree in Physics and Philosophy from the University of Leeds, a Masters degree in Physics of Laser communications and a PhD in Physics from Essex University.
