Simon Cooper is a Vice President of Network Strategy & Architecture for Tata Communications, a member of the $62.5 billion Tata Group. As part of the senior management within the Chief Technical Officer’s organisation, Mr. Cooper is responsible for establishing and implementing strategies relating to Tata Communications’ global network investments and partnerships.

Mr. Cooper has a wide range of technical, commercial and project management experience. In this role, he works closely across all lines of businesses to identify Tata Communications’ future needs and business opportunities.  His core responsibilities also include working extensively with Tata Communications’ partners and technology suppliers.

Prior to joining Tata Communications, Mr. Cooper worked at Level 3 Communications for seven years, including roles in both the Engineering, Operations and Product Management divisions. 
 
Mr. Cooper started out in the Telecoms world at Cable and Wireless where he was fortunate enough to work on many international submarine cable projects, including both the build new cables and existing cable repair management. Some of the major projects at that time included The ECFS, the Trans-Atlantic system Gemini and The Cayman-Jamaica cable system. 

A graduate of the University of Nottingham, Mr. Cooper has a Bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering.
