Matt Walker
Based in Asia since 2001, Matt Walker is a senior analyst in Ovum's Network Infrastructure practice.
Matt has 13 years' experience in the telecoms industry, working in the optical networks sector since 2000. His current work covers such topics as carrier Ethernet, packet-optical convergence, mobile backhaul, undersea networks, FTTx, IPTV/VoD, capex/opex, emerging market carriers, and climate change in the ICT industry. Prior to initiating RHK's Asian research in 2000, Matt's work focused on fixed line competition, regulation and finance.
Matt is regularly quoted in the press and is a frequent speaker at industry events such as those run by IIR, IBC, Terrapinn, Suboptic, Netevents, Reed Expo and OITDA.
Before joining RHK in 1998, Matt worked as an economist for Exeter Associates, a consultancy specializing in telecoms regulation. He gained an MS in Applied Economics and a BA in Political Science from the University of Rochester in 1995 and 1994 respectively.
