Anja graduated in Informatics at the University of Eindhoven in 1991 and did her MBA at the Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, in 1999.
She started her career with KPN as a Datacommunications Specialist in Wide Area Networks. After that she worked as a project manager with Unisource (JV of KPN) in which she was responsible for the migration of the network of a big shipping company. Once Europe and South Africa was finished, she did the same project in Asia with the additional task to provide technical, network consultancy for the top 100 customers of KPN in Asia Pacific (based in Singapore).
After this job, she joined Equant Singapore as Manager Pre-sales and Projectmanagement voor APAC. She was involved in the bids for the multinational customers and the implementation of these networks.
Later she moved back to KPN Singapore as a Programme Manager, where she was  responsible to set up an ISP in India with the local partner Wipro.
In Jan. 2000 she joined KPNQwest in New York as Regional Director NE. In this role she was responsible for the wholesale customers and the relation with Qwest.
Back in Europe she joined KPN in the IT for 4 years and currectly she is Senior Manager within KPN. Her team is responsible for the innovation of the layer 0 and 1 networks including the architecture.
